Mercedes-Benz appoints Emrah Özer as the CFO for India

India’s most desirable luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz India, today announced an organisational change in its Finance & Controlling function effective since 1st January 2025. Emrah Özer, currently associated as the Member of the Board of Management and Head of Finance & Controlling, Mercedes-Benz Otomotiv Turkey, is appointed as the Chief Financial Officer, Mercedes-Benz India. In due course of time, Emrah would be inducted into the Board of
Mercedes-Benz India as Executive Director. Emrah succeeds Evren Cakabey, who has taken over as the Executive Director & CFO, Mercedes-Benz G GmbH, Austria, effective 1st January 2025.

Emrah Özer has successfully managed multiple stakeholders at Mercedes-Benz Otomotiv Turkey, including banks, governments, and investors. He played various leading roles within Finance & Controlling for Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Benz AG and smart where he was responsible for the region India and NAFTA. In 2012, he became Head of Product Controlling for the smart product group. In 2016, Emrah moved to Mercedes-Benz Türk in Istanbul. At
Mercedes-Benz Otomotiv Turkey, Emrah was instrumental in strengthening the company’s financial structure toward a profit-producing organization.
Emrah studied Economics Science at the University of Wilhelmshaven, Germany, graduating with a Master’s Diploma in Economics. He started his career at the Finance & Controlling department at smart GmbH in Stuttgart, in 2002. In 2008, Emrah became the Head of Project Controlling for India & NAFTA.
