Hyundai Motor India Foundation Announces Mission Faridabad – Town Hall Project to Bolster its Commitment Towards Safer Roads

  • Project 1: Health check-up camps for 5000 public transport drivers
  • Project 2: Road safety training program and health check-up for 2500 corporates and their drivers

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the philanthropic arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), today announced a new project on Road Safety. The unique Town Hall project with the message – ‘Dhyan Do’, will emphasise on road safety and self-healthcare of Public/Private transport drivers.

With an attempt to cover more than 34 000 drivers this year, the Town Hall aims reach out to 5 000 public transport drivers along with 2 500 corporate employees and drivers in the district of Faridabad. The program will offer free preliminary health check-up of public transport drivers with curative and preventive counselling by qualified doctors at various touch points with a sustained follow-up plan. In addition to this, HMIF will also conduct large scale cluster awareness clinics for sensitizing about road safety and health implications on drivers.

Commenting on the Town Hall project, Mr. Puneet Anand, Asst. Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motor India, said “Mission Faridabad is an important step towards driver’s safety and well-being. The project attempts to strengthen Hyundai’s various Road Safety initiatives and endeavours to provide comprehensive plan towards the drivers’ well-being. Under Hyundai’s global vision ‘Progress for Humanity’, we aim to create an amicable ecosystem realizing dreams of mankind by going ‘Beyond Mobility’ and create future role models driving social change. We are confident that this initiative will go a long way in developing a better society with empathy along with a sustainable and safe driving ecosystem.”

Road Safety needs multi-stakeholders ‘approach and is addressed through different Pillars like Safe Infrastructure, Safe Vehicle, Road Safety Management, Road User Behaviour and Post-Crash Care. The project 2 of the campaign entails training of corporate employees and corporate drivers along with free counselling for chauffeurs by qualified trainers at various touch points. Hyundai is proud to work closely with the public/private drivers, by empowering them to be physically, mentally, and behaviourally to be self-aware and productive on the job.
