The day I still remember, there were very few youtube channels, websites, and auto portals especially in Malayalam but a lot of magazines are available to read offline.

I was writing the so-called reviews on Blogspot at that time, most of them are from the imagination after reading the reviews online or from auto magazines. My imaginations of driving a car never stayed in India but also another country with good roads. Autobahn for example., if you have a habit of reading and dreaming you will get the point.

Overtake, was the name of the first magazine I started writing. They approached me for a few auto reviews where I can drive and review the new launches. This is how it works, They will arrange cars, bikes or whatever the vehicle is, I should drive it, write about it. Simple.

I was at the peak of happiness (I still don’t know what’s does that means btw) but I knew it, I achieved something and that was a lot for me because of two reasons.

First I am going to write on a magazine which means my words are getting inked and I am into print media, which was a big achievement so I can attend media drives as an auto journalist, which was never happened until a few more years though

However, there is an opportunity and I should crack it, which means I should write something very impressive and should have a wow factor, otherwise, this will end up in one story or even into a dust bin, I never wanted that to happen, so I prepared well and wrote it.

To cut the long story short, it was a disaster, I still think nobody could have written a review like that. It’s like a chapter of an ancient book. I prised the vehicle like a devotional song and there were no negatives at all, even though I was not a fan of that particular example.

Even the article was bad still its get published in the magazine with my own photos, obviously, they edited it and I was the model for that photoshoot, or autoshoot in a fancy way

However, It was a start with a bit of a turbo lag since I like to talk in the car language.

Since then, I wrote a lot of reviews, I’ve Got the Rhythm and continued it for a few years, and eventually ends when I moved to another city for other reasons.

Thereafter I launched Vandipranthan media along with a youtube channel and social media handles and become an influencer, auto reviewer, and a Vandipranthan officially.

Okay, if you ask me, why I am sharing this now and it is because, a few days before I got a call from an institution, an online one. exactly the same like I got the call from Overtake several years before.

They want me to teach some students about how to become an auto journalist/vlogger/whatever it is ☺️

I said yes, but!.

and, I will write about it later, if in case that ” yes but is” not a No! 🙂
